Permissions and Roles

In Pharmadigital, each role has an associated set of permissions that define which actions a user belonging to that role can perform. Permissions can only be granted: it is not possible to explicitly deny a permission to a role. If a user is assigned multiple roles, all permissions from each role are combined: the user will be able to perform all actions for which they have at least one permission across assigned roles.

What Permissions Are

Permissions represent the actions available on the platform and concern several areas, including:

  • Channels
  • Resources
  • Social Media
  • Players
  • Tags

Some permissions allow only a single specific action (e.g., viewing content), while others authorize a set of actions (e.g., creating, editing, and deleting a tag).

Example

If you assign a user both the "Resource Editor" role and the "Channel Manager" role, the user’s permission set will include all actions for both resource management and channel management.

note

You cannot deny a permission to a role: you can only add permissions to roles and assign roles to users.

Effects on the User Interface

When a user logs into Pharmadigital, the platform automatically adapts the interface based on the user’s effective permissions. Sections and menu items related to unauthorized actions are hidden. For example, if the user does not have the “Player Management” permission, the Player management section will not be accessible.

"View Player" Permission

This permission restricts access to player functionalities, allowing the user to consult only the main information and the content currently in use. The role of the group is crucial: specifically, the user can view only the players, channels, and resources assigned to the group they belong to. In the case of multi-zone layouts, the user will only be able to see the channels of the main zone.
