Overview

Interactivity defines the behavior of the device when it receives an event from one of the available sources.

For example, a device can start playing a channel on a GPIO event or turn off the display in response to a UDP command. These actions occur while the device is normally playing the channels assigned to the screen zones.

Event Sources

The available event sources may vary depending on the device model and the version of the Pharmadigital application installed.
The following sources are supported:

  • GPIO
  • UDP
  • HTTP
  • Timer
  • Serial

Event Actions

Each event can specify one or more actions to perform. Available actions are:

  • Play
  • Play once
  • Stop
  • Reboot player
  • Turn screen On/Off
  • Send HDMI-CEC

The Play and Stop actions allow you to select as destination a zone and a channel. The available channel depends on the selected zone.

When the device performs the Play action, it interrupts the content playing on the specified zone and starts the selected channel. At the end of the channel, playback can either loop or stop if the action is Play once. Afterwards, the device resumes the normal scheduling of channels configured for the zone.

If a new event with the same action is received while the previous one is still in progress, in the case of Play once the device restarts the channel from the beginning or interrupts the current content to switch to the next one.

"Default" Channel and Behavior

The Default channel corresponds to the channel scheduled in the zone according to the normal programming.

Example configuration:

  • GPIO event port 0, signal down:
Action: Play on main zone, channel Demo
  • GPIO event port 0, signal up:
Action: Play on main zone, channel Default
