Audio Track Management
The audio track is available in the following main content categories:
- Media
- Stream
For Media content, the audio track is managed for Video and YouTube.
For Stream content, the audio track is managed for YouTube Live, Audio, and HDMI.
Audio track playback modes
The audio track playback mode determines how audio is handled during content playback:

Mixed (default):
The audio is played together with any other audio running on the device.
This is the default mode for all the content types listed above. -
Off:
The audio is disabled (muted) during content playback. -
Exclusive:
The content’s audio is played in exclusive mode, meaning all other playing audio is automatically muted.
When the exclusive content ends, all previously muted audio is automatically restored.

Usage examples
- If you want a video’s audio to play together with other media (e.g., background music), choose Mixed.
- If you want only the audio of a particular stream to be heard (e.g., an important live broadcast), set the mode to Exclusive.
- If you want a piece of content to play without audio, select Off.
FAQ
Can I change the audio mode during playback?
Yes, you can change the audio playback mode from the player settings at any time. The change will take effect from the next content played.
What happens to other audio in “Exclusive” mode?
All other playing audio is automatically muted. Once the exclusive content finishes, the audio of other content will be restored.
Is the audio mode available on all supported devices?
No, at the moment the audio playback modes (Mixed, Off, Exclusive) are only supported on BrightSign players.
