Installing on Android Device
This guide walks you step by step through the installation of the Pharmadigital player on Android devices.
1. Preliminary Checks
Before installation, verify:
- Internet connection: make sure the device can access the network with the correct configuration (Ethernet or Wi-Fi, proxy if needed).
- Android version: must be 7.1 or later.
- Existing configurations: ensure that no previous settings are present and, if necessary, perform a factory reset of the device.
- Date, time, and time zone: confirm they are set correctly.
2. Downloading the APK
- Log in to the dashboard.
- Download the official Pharmadigital APK.
- Copy the APK to a USB stick.
3. Installation Options
Depending on the type of device, follow the appropriate procedure:
Giada devices
- Insert the USB stick into the device.
- Open the Explorer application and access the USB drive.
- Select and open the APK file to start the installation.
- Once the installation is complete, launch the application.
- Use the activation phrase displayed on screen to activate the device in the dashboard.
Generic Android devices
- Enable third-party app installation: go to Menu → Settings → Applications → Enable unknown sources.
- Insert the USB stick into the device.
- Open the File Manager application, select the APK from the USB drive, and proceed with the installation.
- Launch the application.
- Use the activation phrase displayed on screen to activate the device in the dashboard.
4. Auto-start (Android 10+)
Note: For Android 10 or later, a specific permission is required to allow the application to auto-start at boot. If this permission is not granted within the given time, the application will still launch, but you will need to enable it manually in Settings → Permissions.
5. Launch and Activation
- Launch the app you just installed.
- After a few seconds, an activation phrase will appear.
- On the dashboard, go to Players → Manage → Add → Android and complete the activation.
note
- The app will automatically start after each device reboot.
- On Android 10 and later, auto-start requires the specific permission mentioned above.
- Make sure date, time, and time zone are correctly set in the device settings.
