Installing on LG WebOS Displays
This guide is dedicated to LG digital signage displays equipped with the webOS operating system. LG webOS displays provide an integrated and reliable experience for professional applications.
1. Preliminary checks
Before starting, make sure you have:
- An LG display compatible with webOS (recommended models: SM, UM, WS, UH, XE, XS, etc.)
- Access to the display remote control and system settings.
- Active internet connection (Ethernet or Wi-Fi).
- A USB stick formatted FAT32/exFAT containing the Pharmadigital app installation file for webOS.
2. Initial display setup
- Turn on the display and access the main menu using the remote control.
- Go to Settings → Network to check the internet connection.
- Verify that the date, time, and timezone are correct (Settings → General → Date and time).
- Check that the display firmware is updated to the latest available version via Settings → General → Device Information and update if necessary.
3. Application installation
You can install Pharmadigital on webOS using three different methods, depending on your needs.
Option 1: Automatic installation via USB
- Press the Settings button on the remote control.
- Select SI Server Settings to access advanced settings.
- Verify that the Auto Set option is set to On.
- Download the configuration file from your dashboard.
- Copy the file to the root folder of the USB stick.
- Insert the USB stick into the monitor.
- Restart the monitor: the settings contained in the file will be loaded automatically.
Option 2: Manual installation via USB
- Insert into the monitor the USB stick containing the Pharmadigital
.ipkfile in the/applicationfolder. - Access SI Server Settings through the display settings.
- Set Application Launch Mode to Local.
- Set Application Type to IPK.
- Select Local Application Upgrade: USB to start the manual installation of the app.
Option 3: Installation via remote URL
- Press the Settings button on the remote control.
- Access SI Server Settings from the advanced settings.
- Set Fully Qualified Domain Name to On.
- Enter the URL of the latest version of the app, available from your dashboard.
- Set Application Launch Mode to Local.
- Set Application Type to IPK.
- Select Local Application Upgrade: REMOTE to install the app directly from the URL.
Note:
Menu items may vary slightly depending on the model and webOS version.
4. Permissions and auto-start
- Some models require you to manually set the app to auto-start after reboot:
Go to Settings → Applications → Auto-start and select Pharmadigital. - If available, configure Kiosk Mode to prevent the app from being closed accidentally.
5. Player activation
- Launch the Pharmadigital app you just installed.
- The activation phrase will appear and must be entered into the dashboard.
- Complete the registration of the display in the dashboard by selecting LG webOS when prompted.
Troubleshooting
- The app does not start at power-on
- Check the auto-start configuration.
- Make sure the Kiosk Mode function is active (if available).
- Network issues
- Check the Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection and proxy parameters.
- No image or content displayed
- Verify the input source and resolution settings.
