Update the Pharmadigital Player App
From the Players section you can update the player application on one or more devices, either immediately or with a scheduled window.
Update Types
- Immediate update → starts right away if the device is online.
- Scheduled update → choose date/time (useful for maintenance windows).
How to Update
- Go to Players → Manage.
- Select one or more devices.
- Click Update and pick:
- Latest recommended version (default), or
- A specific version if available.
- Confirm Now or set a Schedule.
- Monitor progress from the list (status column).
tip
Keep players aligned with the recommended version for security and new features.
Requirements & Notes
- Device must have internet access and sufficient storage.
- Some platforms (e.g., webOS, BrightSign) require a compatible firmware.
- If a device is offline at the scheduled time, the update will run when it reconnects.
Troubleshooting
- Update failed → check network, storage, supported version, and retry.
- Device stuck → reboot the device from the Actions menu.
- Mixed fleet → roll out in waves: test group → partial fleet → full fleet.
