Update the Pharmadigital Player App

From the Players section you can update the player application on one or more devices, either immediately or with a scheduled window.


Update Types

  • Immediate update → starts right away if the device is online.
  • Scheduled update → choose date/time (useful for maintenance windows).

How to Update

  1. Go to Players → Manage.
  2. Select one or more devices.
  3. Click Update and pick:
    • Latest recommended version (default), or
    • A specific version if available.
  4. Confirm Now or set a Schedule.
  5. Monitor progress from the list (status column).
tip

Keep players aligned with the recommended version for security and new features.


Requirements & Notes

  • Device must have internet access and sufficient storage.
  • Some platforms (e.g., webOS, BrightSign) require a compatible firmware.
  • If a device is offline at the scheduled time, the update will run when it reconnects.

Troubleshooting

  • Update failed → check network, storage, supported version, and retry.
  • Device stuck → reboot the device from the Actions menu.
  • Mixed fleet → roll out in waves: test group → partial fleet → full fleet.
